Prof. Dr. Frank Behrendt, born 1959, studied chemistry at the RWTH Aachen University and the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg.
In 2001 he became Full Professor and head of the chair “Energy Process Engineering and Conversion Techniques of Renewable Energies” at the Technische Universität Berlin. His scientific work focuses on the investigation of reactive two-phase flows. His research portfolio also includes activities in the field of energy system modelling.
In 2007, Behrendt was elected fellow of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech). In 2016 he was elected as a corresponding fellow of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences – SATW. In 2019, the Beijing Institute of Technology (Beijing, P. R. China) appointed him Advisory Professor at the School of Management and Economics.
